Enterprise Cloud Federal Edition

This federal-only cloud infrastructure (Community Cloud, as defined by NIST Version 15, 10-7-09) is hosted at Terremark’s NAP of the Capital Region in Culpeper, Va. and the NAP of the Americas in Miami, Fla., Tier III datacenters that are purpose-built to house federal IT infrastructure.

An easy-to-use Web-based management interface provides command-and-control over a cloud-based resource pool of compute, storage and network built on a fully clustered enterprise-class computing architecture featuring virtualization technology from VMware, and compute and network infrastructure from Cisco and NetApp.

Terremark understands that assuring the integrity and availability of mission-critical information is a top priority for government agencies.  Terremark provides highly secure architecture designed to meet today’s critical compliance and certification requirements.  It has been audited against FISMA to the moderate-level and NIST 800-53 for existing federal customers. Terremark can configure network connectivity to meet agency requirements, integrate customer-owned network and security hardware and engage third parties for assessments or audits.

Terremark has the ability to provide hybrid solutions that combine cloud environments with traditional colocation or managed hosting. These physical deployments can be easily interconnected to federal cloud environments, so customers still benefit from the advantages of cloud computing. Private clouds can be deployed for federal customers that want the flexibility and scalability of the cloud, but require environments with minimal shared infrastructure components.

Virtually all federal agencies require encrypted off-site data retention, and Terremark makes it easy to leverage tapeless, agentless backup & restore on the cloud.  Terremark’s backup & restore provides secure, streamlined onsite-offsite data backup and restore that is highly scalable and easily customizable. Offsite backups are secured with encryption up to AES-256  standards for maximum security.
